About The Author
My name is Christopher Jones. As an aspiring writer and ancient Near Eastern historian, I began this site in order to keep my writing skills sharp and my knowledge of Near Eastern history up to speed. Now, it is primarily a vehicle for exploring upon facets of ancient history that I find interesting.
My research interests in the ancient world are in Assyria, religion and violence, the militarization of societies, military history, and maritime history.
I recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Peace, War & Defense and Ancient History, and a minor in Archaeology. I am currently attending Wheaton College to earn my M.A. in Biblical Archaeology.
Besides the ancient world, I also maintain a research interest in the history of North Carolina, especially during the American Civil War. More information about my academic life can be found below:
